Sol Tacos started in 2009 when Rosa and Miguel Reyes opened a tiny stand at the corner of S Flores Street with nothing but an heirloom al pastor recipe, a comal, and an unshakeable belief that San Antonio deserved the real thing.
Today, their children run the kitchen while Rosa still makes every salsa from scratch each morning. Every tortilla is hand-pressed. Every protein is sourced from local Texas ranchers. Nothing comes from a bag.
We cook the way our grandmothers cooked — with time, care, and an ungodly amount of dried chiles.
Achiote-marinated pork, slow-roasted on the trompo, with pineapple and crispy edges.
Slow-braised beef cheek, fall-apart tender, cooked overnight in banana leaves.
